Walking on Miracles

Have you ever been challenged so much that everything you ever believed and were told was about to scatter? And knowing that it could actually be a beginning rather than an end? Knowing that you are at the verge of breaking free and flying off into true freedom? That’s what happened when I started studying A Course in Miracles (ACIM). It was a real remembering for me. Did I study it in a previous life? I don’t know. What I do know is that it has reignited the light within me.

Obviously, the ego is not willing to let go without a fight. Sometimes fear takes over. Is this life not real? What about the people I love? This world looks so real. Sometimes a part of me thinks to bin the whole ACIM idea (guess which part of me). But then another part of me is reassuring me that I am on the right track. I have been on this ACIM journey  for  only a few months, and as you know I just share about my experiences but even in such a short time the way I look at life has changed completely. It is true that it’s about experience. I’m already experiencing much more peace, things don’t upset me as much as they used to do. It’s been said that the Course is the fastest way Home. That feels right to me. It’s like each word I read is undoing my ego.

A miracle is described by the dictionary as an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God.

This above definition makes it sound like miracles are out of our control and happens to us if we’re lucky. Not much walking on miracles then is it? I would like to tell you that miracles are natural, innate and loving.

A Course In Miracles says the following:

  • Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. The real miracle is the love that inspires them. In this sense everything that comes from love is a miracle.
  • A miracle is a service. It is the maximal service you can render to another. It is a way of loving your neighbor as yourself. You recognize your own and your neighbor’s worth simultaneously (T-1.I.18)
  • Miracles reawaken the awareness that the spirit, not the body, is the altar of truth (T-1.I.20)
  • Miracles are natural signs of forgiveness. Through miracles you accept God’s forgiveness by extending it to others (T-1.I.21)
  • You are a miracle, capable of creating in the likeness of your Creator. Everything else is your own nightmare, and does not exist. Only the creations of light are real
  • Miracles honor you because you are lovable. They dispel illusions about yourself and perceive the light in you. They thus atone for your errors by freeing you from your nightmares. By releasing your mind from the imprisonment of your illusions, they restore your sanity (T-1.I.33)
  • Miracles restore the mind to its fullness. By atoning for lack they establish perfect protection. The spirit’s strength leaves no room for intrusions (T-1.I.34)
  • Miracles are expressions of love, but they may not always have observable effects (T-1.I.35)
  • Miracles are examples of right thinking, aligning your perceptions with truth as God created it (T-1.I.36)

All of a sudden we look at miracles differently, don’t we? All of a sudden miracles seem near. They seem within our control. They seem to be our reality. Therefore, we are constantly walking on miracles. In this present moment – here and now – I invite you to step into love more fully. Express and share your love. This is the best thing you can do for yourself and others. You will then see that miracles come as natural to you as breathing for a human body does. These miracles will lead you Home.

Now go and experience these miracles for yourself.

Remember that you are loved my friend.
